May Feature Friday: Nox and Logan.

By

Hello everyone!

First of all, I’d like to apologise for the missed month in which I’ve been doing Feature Friday. I’ve been quite ill and then dealing with an injured back too. So I’m currently playing catch up on all my work and commissions as well as the bits and bobs needed for updating my website.

But This month’s Feature Friday has another two awesome artists I’d love to showcase!
I gave these guys some questions to answer to give a better idea of who they are and what they do, too. Enjoy!

Francis, Aka Nox

What got you into creating art?

It’s a bit of an odd question for me as I’ve stopped and started creatively for a long time. I would sketch for a few weeks then stop. I set my mind to it last year as a way to centre myself and I’ve pretty much drawn every day for almost a year now. For me it was a way to keep centred and focus. So what got me into art would be…forming a solid skill set from the ground up. Something I could look back and be proud of.

Where do you find your inspiration for your designs?

Music and books! I have a broad taste in music but I do favour the deeper and darker sounds, as well as the literature I read, it’s general fantasy to dark fantasy. I favour the old authors. David Eddings, Robert Jordan etc.

Do you have an ultimate goal when it comes to art? Or where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

That’s a tricky one, as for an ultimate goal I would say I’d like to release my graphic novel I’ve had in the works for….around 3 days before god was born. Other than that I feel that so long as I can create and improve and enjoy it, then the journey itself is the reward. I would, one day, like to be a self sustaining artists though. Balancing work and painting sure is tough sometimes.

Note from Lexi:

I adore Nox’s work. He predominantly works in grey shade and the effects his work gives are awesome! Hos photo-realism pieces are absolutely outstanding and I’m totally jealous of this guy’s skill and determination. So many great things will be coming from this one in the future!

Logan

I’m Logan. I’m 25 from New Zealand. I work security and in my spare time when I’m not gaming, I make digital illustrations of some of my favourite characters from anime/games/film

What got you into creating art?

I’ve always been interested in drawing and showing off my own/others imagination, and digital art presented a cool opportunity to do so.

Where do you find your inspiration for your designs?

Mainly just from shows I like. I’ll see a cool shot and then try and replicate that feeling… Also I’ll just muck around until I see something that feels cool to me.

Do you have an ultimate goal when it comes to art? Or where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Ultimate goal is to open my own animation studio and make my own cartoon shorts and skits.

Note from Lexi:

Logan has such an awesome way of creating art! When I heard that he did this with just his mouse, it almost floored me!! I remembered the iconic days of using Microsoft paint with a mouse to create crazy scribble designs… never did I think something on this level could be created! I love his use of bold colours and the expressions his characters have are just spot on!
